Lauren Graham

Today's inspiring Woman is not one who I particularly admire for her great credentials or what she's achieved - but her general happiness and confidence in herself that makes her such an amazing woman.

In every interview with Lauren Graham there is the same, chipper, beautiful woman that stands before you. There is a consistency to Lauren that I can't describe- but it's wonderfully refreshing to be shown someone who seems so real. The best part is that she always seems happy. I know that in show business an element of all celebrities is a show, but with Lauren you feel like the show is left with her acting, and in every other aspect you really just get that little girl who dressed up as a coconut and rolled across her gym for Halloween.

Lauren is always comfortable with herself. She is surprisingly single, but never seems preoccupied or stressed about it. Just COMFORTABLE with where she is in her life. I love that about her and I think it's something young women really need to take a good look at themselves. Do you have a desperate need to always be chasing someone? Or be with someone to make you feel good about yourself? I know a lot of people in their initial thoughts will deny it, but if you take a step back and really look at it - its very rare for women to actually just be happy with being single. Not involved, Not "it's complicated", Nothing. Just single and enjoying your life without hanging on to someone else with every ounce of strength.

That's why Lauren really is such a great role model. Her true understanding of who she is as a person really defines how the world sees her and gives her a confidence that just hasn't been matched by anyone I've seen yet.

Tina Fey

There are many different women who inspire me for many different reasons. Some inspire because of how much they have achieved, some because of their personalities. There is one woman who I believe inspires me on all levels - that woman is Tina Fey.

Whether or not you like her or hate her there is no disputing the fact that she has accomplished a lot in her career as a writer, improviser and actor. From Second City to 30 Rock she has always been a busy and talented woman. Many young women could take a leaf out of her book when it comes to having an impressive work ethic. She has written a screen play that she wrote from a non fiction book (quite an achievement) and successfully produces, writes and stars in her own television series. It's an impressive feat just to have one of those on your resume` let alone doing them all at once.

Its not only her professional career that inspires me though. Its her personality that really makes me aspire to be someone like her. She seems so well rounded and seems to understand people very well (Which naturally shows in her writing). I love that we never see her private life splashed in the tabloids - and its not because she keeps her drama quiet. Its because she's honestly an average person. She's not putting on any kind of show so there's no story there. She's a mum, a wife, a friend and family member, and she's content with that. Its wonderful and such an inspiring thing to see someone who truly seems happy with their life and isn't searching for anything more in that department.

You can't go past Tina Fey without mentioning that she is ridiculously pretty. Her personality shines through her amazing Greek heritage and she is truly beautiful. What I love about this aspect of her is that it is an achievable beauty for women to aspire to. She has curves and she's flawed, but she works with what she has to get amazing results. The best part is is that she's AWARE of it. She understands that flawed beauty is beautiful and she doesn't feel the constant need to dress to the nines every single day. She dresses like a normal human and looks good doing it. She knows what works for her and thats enough. Women put too much emphasis on their weight and what they're wearing to truly sit back and wonder why they waste the energy. If you love you, others will love you.

And Tina is a wonderful example of just that.

Introduction

Hi All,

So this is my first post for this blog, so I thought I should explain a little about why i decided to write it. Throughout my life I have always had a need for role models. Someone I wanted to aspire to to make my dreams feel achievable. It changes all the time, for many different reasons, and I'm very sure that I'm not the only one. So I wanted to write this for other girls who might feel lost sometimes too and want to see some real people (in my opinion) that are still accessible through media channels. This blog will contain some thoughts on women who have inspired and currently inspire me on a daily or even remote basis and why.

So I hope you enjoy it and maybe it will inspire you a little too.

Best Wishes,

Janelle
